A Veggie Venture - Great blog about Vegetables
From time to time I will be sharing my favorite websites and blogs and then adding the link to Fru Gulley's page in the right margin. Feel free to send in your favorite websites that help you be frugal too!
I just love the recipes on A Veggie Venture! Since I eat 4 cups of veggies every day, I am always looking for new ways to use them. Check out their alphabetical veggie list to view tons of great recipes on the vegetable of your choice. To never miss a recipe you can sign up for "home delivery" of a new recipe from a Veggie Venture here. Once you do, new recipes will be delivered, automatically, straight to you email in box. You can access today's recipe, "Lasagna Soup with Fresh Spinach" by clicking this link.
Hi Sue - so glad that A Veggie Venture inspires you! I much appreciate the shout-out too!
ReplyDeleteCan't help but notice that you are a brand-new blogger, welcome to the community. Will you let me offer some advice? There are two reasons why you shouldn't offer your readers a 'taste' of another site. First, it's plagiarism unless the site gives permission either through a creative commons license or directly. Second, Google will punish your site for what's called duplicate content, making it far less likely that your site will begin to rank high for certain key words which means that new readers won't find your site.
What you CAN do are: link to the recipe just as you've linked to other pages, OR, make the recipe yourself and rewrite the recipe with your own notes and tips and photograph (a photograph is optional but photographs are subject to copyright law too so it's always good to get permission before copying a photograph).
I recognize that in your case, you re-published a recipe from A Veggie Venture out of enthusiasm, not of trying to violate copyright law, which is why -- okay I'll stop now -- that I've offered an explanation about why I'd appreciate it if you'd remove the recipe from your site. A LINK, if you like, if just fine however.
Thanks much, please take this in the manner intended, an experienced blogger trying to help out a new blogger.
Thanks for the blogging tips Alanna, yes I am new and enthusiastic! I have removed the recipe as you requested.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks.
ReplyDeletePS When you link, it should be to what's called to the page permalink, that way if readers visit YOUR page next year, say, they'll go straight to the recipe that you are so enthusiastic about, for the lasagna soup, that's http://kitchen-parade-veggieventure.blogspot.com/2010/01/lasagna-soup-with-fresh-spinach.html.
PPS You're welcome to remove these comments, no problem.
