Expiration Dates

I've never worried too much about expiration dates on food. When I was growing up, my dad owned a grocery store and we always used all of the food that we couldn’t sell anymore because of the dates. We never had a problem with spoiled food. If it looks and smells good, I will use it. Of course if the product doesn't look quite right, smells a bit "off" or the can is swollen, I immediately throw it out. I recently read an interesting article about expiration dates.
